1. Herve Leger dresses

This is bandage (bondage?) at its sexiest. Borrowing from the Egyptian method of banding, Herve Leger is the Holy Grail of body-con dresses. I had the opportunity to be stuffed into one of these (thank you, thank you Pois ladies); you are banded to within an inch of your life, but you emerge slimmer and held in at all the right places.
One of the really nice ladies at Pois gave me a crash course. On the racks were Herve Leger and Herve L.Leroux. Herve Leger was bought out by the BCBG Max Azria Group in 1998 and since then, the brand sees Max Azria at its helm. Herve Leger himself still designs, but under the label of Herve L.Leroux, from his Saint Germain des Prés boutique. The banding is rather different. There’s a more couture feel to the Herve L.Leroux dresses, substantially thicker in material and tighter in fit, draping rather than banding; the Herve Leger ones have more obvious banding panels and are lighter and thinner in material.
You’ll be interested to know that BCBG carries some dresses with Herve Leger-like panels, but at just a fraction of the price.
2. Honda CrossRoad
This is on my hubby’s list. He’s trying to convince me that this seven-seater machine would allow us greater space and convenience in getting from one point to the other, which is home and Tanglin Mall, home and Toys ‘R Us basically.
The present CrossRoad is a re-introduction of a previous model, that was available to the Japan and US markets. It was also known as the Land Rover Discovery, but Honda’s relationship ended after Rover was taken over by BMW in 1984.
The present model is a mini SUV in automatic transmission, in a sleeker, tighter body. Dear, I’m not sure about this, but if you are paying, whatever floats your boat.
3. Blackberry Bold vs. Nokia E71
I know the BBB is on the lust list of (at least) three of my friends. I’m also seduced, by mere fact that it’s not a bloody touch phone, and of course, the Blackberry services. But what’s stopping me is its heftiness and the rather plasticky look to the screen, chrome & keyboard (ok, that’s all the surfaces).
The Nokia E71 is the other contender, and it supports Blackberry Connect. Could it be the sleeker, sophisticated (lesser?) cousin of the BBB? And well, reviewers seem to agree that the battery life holds up better than the BBB.
I’m definitely visiting M1 again this weekend.
