Yupe, I took advantage of Hilton’s January ’50% off all 2010 weekends (in all Hilton and Conrad properties worldwide, how cool is that)’ promo and planned waaaay in advance for Kiefer’s first trip to Tokyo. I had to, as the deals end 31 Jan.
Kiefer had wanted to go Japan because in his words, ‘Japan’s toilets are soooo clean!’. When I asked who told him that, he promptly replied, ‘You, Mummy!’ LOL, of course I did.
I had originally planned a languorous weekend at Maldives – I mean, who gets 50% off a Maldivian stay right. But I wasn’t too sure about the resort’s policy of having young children in the water villas. And so, Tokyo it is.
When I told Kiefer that we’re heading to Tokyo, he was rather upset. So I quizzed him, ‘I thought you had wanted to go Japan?’
Kiefer: ‘Tokyo is Japan?!’
LOL, what a kid.
Under Jenny’s recommendation, I’ve booked a Happy Magic Room at Hilton Tokyo Bay. The resort created a fairytale, and built a room around it, with gadgets and thingamajigs such as a magic ghost mirror, a magic closet etc. I may just have a tough time getting him out of the room into Disneyland!
Thereafter, we’ll be spending the large part of the week in central Tokyo, at a Hilton and then the rest of it at Peninsula Tokyo. Thanks to Jean who returned from Tokyo and Peninsula not too long ago, I can’t think of anywhere else to end the trip with.
I definitely would want to try a molecular cocktail at Peter, the bar.

And of course, to pay my respects at Hermes Ginza. But I would first have to make a stop at Kiddyland for bribe toys, I guess!
