Two years on…

I started the business nearly two years ago because I believed in availing the ladies who deserved it, bags and accessories that make them happy. They benefit by way of savings, or just pure availability (in the case of birkins and limited season bags and accessories).

I have accepted that this is an open business model that is susceptible to copy-cats. I have had websites that openly copy my wording or even pricing model, lifted word for word from right here. I have had competitors openly copying my tone and manner of posts, and tragically, posing as customers, asking on pricing but never committing to a purchase. Yes, I do know who you are. Amazing what bags bring out in us eh…

But still, I would remain on amicable terms. For I do not believe in greed, or profiting at your expense, or going back on my service promise. But what separates us, is that I built this on a belief, whilst the rest may have built it on a business model.

And that’s what I’ve learnt, two years on…

But still I believe, it’s fair game to all. And the consumers have only to gain, so game on.

But most importantly, a gazillion thanks to my faithful readers and clients. This wouldn’t have been possible without you lovelies! And a beautiful long weekend to all.

Upcoming Paris/London trips

It was a dilemma for me, whether to announce these trips or not. I do have a backlog of birkin orders, as usual, to fulfil. And as some of you know, we have been making unannounced trips to clear the list, a couple at a time, but surely.

And so, for this reason, we’ll be accepting non-birkin orders for these trips. We of course, welcome non-birkin Hermes requests.

For those who’ve responded to my earlier correspondence on staying on the list, I won’t be sending you further confirmation emails.

Tokyo redux

Tokyo is the same as I left it. Crazy-busy bustling, a total sensory overload.

I wondered how the kids would adjust to it, as I was travelling with my 6 year-old and his 5 year-old childhood friend.

Which was why it struck me as a good idea to ease into the Tokyo ways with Disneyland and DisneySea being the first stops on our trip.

And I LOVED IT. I got to ride on the Space Mountain again; it was as exhilarating an experience as my first time at Anaheim Disney, 14 years ago! Kiefer came out green-faced though, but I told him it was a rite of passage. His response? ‘You’re crazy, Mummy!’

We stayed at Hilton Tokyo Bay’s Happy Magic Room, that had hidden gadgets to fire up the kids’ imagination, such as the Magic Mirror, the Secret Key and Books.

After the ‘Mummy, I’m going to die’ rides, I think Kiefer liked the room best, from the entire Disney experience lol. There were magical moments of course, albeit unexpectedly, at DisneySea’s Ariel’s World, which was a wondrous cornucopia of colours. Even I couldn’t help but be wowed.

It was off to the main Tokyo city centre after Disney. I have to say, Tokyo is the next best thing to a treadmill. As it happens, the best way to know Tokyo is to walk it. Which worked out fine for me, looking at the amount of food I ate.

I went to the acclaimed One-Michelin starred Sushiko, but I have to say in all honesty, it came up slightly short of expectations, especially with a starting price of S$250++. Can’t beat Nakajima, the other One-Michelin starred I’ve been to in Tokyo, but with much more humble prices.

Nobu was great though, Kiefer and I both loved the beef course. It really is as succulent as it looks in the picture.

Ok, gota make a vet run, for our new puppy. Yes, I came home to a new dog. What a shock/surprise when I saw the hubby and a furry one greeting us at arrival.

June shopping trips

Once again, thanks for your support. As usual, we’ve had overwhelming orders for our June trips. We don’t always announce all our trips; there are those of you faithful customers who know we do go all out in our efforts, and we rollover our orders in ‘unannounced trips’ on top of the official ones.

My Tokyo holiday closes our June trips. And for those who haven’t heard back from us either via phone call or text/email, your orders haven’t been fulfilled, sincere apologies.

Our next official trips are in August, watch this space for more details.

In addition to my self-pressie of the good old carat, the two Ks of my life got me this giant of a rock. Before ya’ll get too excited at what seems like a gazillion carat, the stone in the middle isn’t diamond.

It’s aquamarine in a halo diamond setting. My perfect cocktail ring. Except that the girdle was so rough, you could see with the naked eye that it hadn’t been polished down properly.

So I had it changed to a pair of diamond cluster earrings, which I would wear everyday. Pics when I can get a good one
