Just before my surgery, I had finished up with my two yoga memberships.
My ‘gym membership’ comes out of the UOB Ladies Card that offers two free visits per month to any branch of California Fitness centre. In every visit, I could get into a dance class (for a vigorous cardio workout), then on to the elliptical machine, and I even have time left over for the weights. I had been inundated with endless calls about cheap promo packages, but I am steadfast about it. I am happy to pay $25 per entry (which makes a once-a-week visit cost $50 in total, since I have two free visits) , then be tied down to a $60+ plan for 3 years.
Now for the yoga sessions. The said credit card also offers free visits to True Yoga. This, I don’t recommend you try unless you have iron resolve like mine, for the salesultants would hound you to try and break you down (unless of course, you want to sign up). If there’s a class I really fancy like Bollywood Dance (seriously it’s a bunch of fun) or Pilates, I would sign in on the 12th floor Pacific Plaza studio (as it’s on a different level from the main one where all the hounds are) and only go to the classes offered in that particular studio. If they are not happy that I am taking advantage of these privileges without paying a cent, then UOB should just retract them, and I have told them so. Interestingly or not, you’ll see a representative Wee in all three instituitions – UOB, California Fitness, True Yoga.
Imagine the thousands I would and have saved. And I promise I will not drop them on these gorgeous CLs at the newly opened boutique

This post is rather belated. I had received this card in the post last week.

Some of you may know that the Christian Louboutin shoe boutique is open, but did you know that it’s managed by the same group that runs On Pedder, which also owns the Club Monaco (which I love!) franchise. I hope the prices are much more reasonable than those at On Pedder, fingers crossed.
I had the pleasure of attending a Piaget event, hosted by Harper’s Bazaar last Friday evening. In an intimate set-up, complete with canapes and champers, we were shown some really beautifully whimsical pieces. To the theme of adaptability, the delightful necklaces from the Possession range were designed with hidden clasps that can be undone to wrap a few loops around the neck, waist or wrists. Piaget’s foray into jewellery is a rather recent one, and already, they have successfully married wearability and high style.

The Possession necklace in Rose Gold that can also be worn as a belt and bracelet
The Miss Protocole watch was taken out from the display to oohs and aahs from the small but well-dressed and well-coiffed crowd. The interchangeable straps can be detached to latch on flamenco-esque black crystal tassles or feathers suited for the red carpet. Gossamery creations that dreams are made of. They made my heart sing. Simply simply breathtaking.

Fierce yet sexy, I love it

I was speechless when they took this out
Fuelled by the bubbly and the bouyant mood (diamonds generally make me silly-happy), my companion and I strode in to On Pedder. We walked out with a new pair of Yoyos. More on Louboutins in my next post.
