Ok, since we’re on the subject of Gilt, I’ve been asked several times if gilt.com accepts international credit cards, for international buyers don’t seem to be able to complete their Gilt transactions.

I would say, if your Visa or MasterCard fails, use AMEX! Though I have not tried using anything else other than AMEX on gilt.com, I have had my VISA turned away when purchasing bigger-ticket items on other sites. So now, I always, always transact online with my AMEX. Plus it seems that AMEX features greater buyer protection than VISA or Master, from what I have been reading on the forums. Plus when you keep all your online transactions on one card, your spending’s easier to track.

So there, yes, Gilt accepts international cards, just be sure that they are AMEX!

Shopping under the influence

I never learn.

Never go shopping (online or IRL) after a trying day, or after more than a couple of cocktails.

My very first Herve was bought at Pois after some very good marmalade martinis, at above-above retail prices. My judgement was so impaired, that I bought a top priced at three Herve Leger dresses on super-sale.

My second Herve Leger order in a space of two weeks came after a particularly bad day.

Just days ago, I had gone in to office at mid-day after putting in a 4am the night before. I had clicked on the Gilt.com email link to the day’s sale on my Blackberry. Thankfully, nothing grabbed my fancy except for this beautiful set of gold-plated Amrita Singh 36-piece Bangle Set, for a mere US$38. Good thing Gilt didn’t have the Tom Binns cuff on sale that day!

Who needs an excuse when Herve Leger is on sale?

Before theoutnet.com, gilt.com is my go-to for luxe discounted apparel. And last night, they didn’t disappoint. Herve Leger was going for up to 70% off!

I was debating between these two. I settled for the more ‘sensible’, easier-to-wear one without the rose.med-3med-4

As of now, the Rosette Mini Colourblock Dress in M is still available. The entire batch is sold out save for two dresses. As I exited the site last night at 1.20am, already one third were sold out. The sale starts at 12pm American time, which is 12am Singapore time. Ends 13May, 12pm Singapore time. Go, go go!

It’s an invite-only site. You can use my invitation link here. And ship via comGateway, as gilt.com doesn’t ship to Singapore. Just don’t use vpost, I had nasty experiences with them.

I need a birthday dress, I really do. Since I didn’t get that birthday watch nor bag nor shoes. Haha, I just take whatever excuse I can get, eh.
