Whilst making our way to Taka (see post below), Kiefer told me out of the blue, that he wanted a jacket. I took it to mean that he should have brought his trusty ole Burberry windbreakers (bought at a sale, and it had a run of a good 2.5 years). But no, he said that he wanted to buy a NEW and WHITE jacket with a zipper. Ok a white windbreaker. Woah! I thought, when did he develop such a determined sense of fashion? He then shyly said that he wanted to look like a hero character from the Naruto cartoon. That makes sense. Riiight.

It isn’t often that Kiefer asks for a piece of fashion apparel, and being the clothes-crazy mom that I am, I was more than eager to indulge in his fashion quest, however misplaced I think it was.

So, after fulfilling our main toy shopping list, we walked to the adjacent clothes section, where we couldn’t walk past DKNY kids, Burberry, Polo Ralph Kids without asking about a white windbreaker/jacket. Of course, they had none, except for the brand that’s largely synonymous with red carpet gowns and suits. Turned out that Armani Junior had not only one but two white windbreakers and a white vest to choose from.

Why didn’t Levis or Guess make white boy windbreakers?!

But it made Kiefer happy, and I guess that’s what really matters.

I had always denied my inner pink in my younger days. When I hit the big 3-0 and some, I thought what the heck woman, it’s now or never you aren’t getting any younger, and I got myself a big ole’ pink jumbo Chanel classic flap.

What a girly bubble-gummily glorious shade!
