Just when you think I’m done with Tokyo…

… here are more pictures, from the ‘Shopping’ collection, hooha!

Sorry that I’ve only just decided to get out of my groucho mood (you can totally tell from my second last post).

Anyhoo,  here goes!

Commes de Garcon. So cheap in Tokyo. Or does Club 21 super over price it here?

‘Magazine Alive’ is a pop-up store that showcases pieces that were featured in this month’s Vogue issue. Kinda like the ‘secret closet’ unveiled. The items are available for retail too I believe.

Let me leave you with this closing shot of a tailor at the window of a boutique.

Tokyo was senses and shopping overload! I did wish that I got into more vintage stores though, and perhaps the Naka Meguro district. Next time, eh? :)

Ok, signing off!

YES! theoutnet.com is LIVE

NICE.

Pardon my gushing. But if you have found the elusive dress from last season at 70% off retail (Singapore boutique prices), you would be too.

Look, look, look. Yes, it’s the Marc organza dress I was hunting for, twenty posts back.

Natalie Massanet, of the net-a-porter.com genius, has taken the gloom and doom in her stride, and turned out theoutnet.com, which offers heavily-discounted designer goods in limited quantities and sizes. Not unlike the gilt.com flash sale website that I frequent. Except that you don’t have to wait or count down to the sale. It is a perennial event.

Well, I’m darned glad.

What I did with my vouchers

Remember those vouchers from the previous post?

I had let the excitement get way ahead of me. I paid a quick visit to the month-old Marc by Marc Jacobs in-store boutique at Isetan Scotts. It was disappointing. They didn’t have the pretty frocks from the previous nor current season, to be honest, nor anything pretty at all. What is up with that?

Then I realise, ok, this is run by Club 21. Immediately I’m wondering if it’s the same buyer, who purchases for DKNY and Calvin Klein. They often miss out on the key pieces. They charge a crazy premium, the least they could do is bring in some nice pieces. A conversation with the manager, – though she is polite  - didn’t help at all. The staff is ill-informed about the apparel, not unlike the folks at DKNY and Calvin Klein.

So I thought I would take my vouchers somewhere else more deserving. Where I got this.
